Repertoire

Gwalia seeks not only to perpetuate the Welsh choral tradition but to develop a repertoire of sacred and secular music ranging from the polyphonic music of the High Renaissance to works by contemporary composers.

Items are chosen from the mainstream or folk cultures of various countries and present a diverse mixture of stirring patriotic songs, love songs (both serious and ironic), songs of nostalgic content, as well as 'atmospheric' songs conveying deep emotions aroused by natural scenes or occurences such as the brilliantly conceived tone poem 'NOS A BORE'
