- The Choir comprises thirty men of all ages and backgrounds who enjoy singing and are based in and around London
- Our songs vary widely from traditional Welsh hymns & folk songs, well-known opera choruses & spirituals, to lighter numbers including pop tunes and hits from Broadway musicals
- Audiences enjoy our concerts in venues ranging from the Royal Albert Hall, concert halls in Geneva, Antwerp and Dublin, to churches, hotels, clubs and village halls throughout the UK
Established more than 40 years ago, the Choir has a long pedigree and has made recordings, TV appearances and even recorded the sound-track for a Hugh Grant movie
We are proud to provide a platform for talented soloists to perform in public
Recent engagements include a 20 minute cabaret at the Royal Academy, a varied 90 minute concert including soloists at a church in SW London, a wedding in Cambridgeshire, and a concert in Antwerp with a prestigious mandolin orchestra
We are looking forward to a weekend in Norwich, several wedding & private functions, and a concert in London shared with Cor Meibion Morlais from South Wales; in addition trips to Cornwall and Poland are being planned
The Gwalia is versatile and has the flexibility to tailor its concert programmes and fees to the client’s requirements
Our conductor and accompanist are highly regarded professional musicians with whom we work hard to achieve high standards of performance
We are dedicated amateurs who are passionate about singing and having a good time; we enjoy performing a wide variety of songs in a wide variety of locations, and have great fun
Visitors and potential new members are welcome to come along to our rehearsals and relax with us afterwards in the bar on Wednesday evenings at the London Welsh Centre
